Umm, Microsoft, please get these blasted forums fixed.
We have multiple posts because we keep getting messages that there was an error sending our posts and we think we have to resubmit them when lo and behold, it DID go through the first time.
This hardly inspires confidence in a new OS, browser, etc.
Thank you.

That will prevent seeing all the duplicated posts?

Why not just fix the problem?

Yes. The web-based reader appears to give false posting failure messages and folks naturally submit again (and again and again, in some cases).

Use Windows Mail to view the newsgroups.
It won't keep you from seeing them, but it will keep you from making them. Besides, it's faster and easier than that *#@! Web interface.

Actually... The first few posts I made from Windows Mail was giving me that error. Now it seems fine so... *shrugs*
Ian, as Frank said, using the NNTP reader in Vista or XP from Outlook Express gives you a much faster interface with an increased number of features and options to download headers, syncronize new messages; syncronize all messages. The html web interface has always been paradoxically clunky and slow as a legless snail even though MSFT makes IE.
One of the nice features of Win Mail in Vista is that it will configure the MSFT Public newsgroups--these--for you if you just click on Windows Help Groups on the left. If you happen to be on an XP box, and want to use the wizard to download groups see:

Thank you. I'm now using OE6 on my laptop and Mail on my desktop. It certainly is a lot easier. :)
